The 30-Day ERP Implementation Checklist for SMBs

Marcus Johnson·Implementation Lead, Bizon··8 min read

ERP implementations don't have to take months. With cloud SaaS and a phased approach, most small and mid-size businesses can be operational in 30 days.

Week 1: Foundation. Set up your company profile, chart of accounts, user roles, and security policies. Import your customer and vendor lists. Don't try to migrate everything at once.

Week 2: Core operations. Go live on accounting and sales — your highest-volume workflows. Run Bizon in parallel with your old system for one billing cycle to validate numbers.

Week 3: Expand modules. Add inventory, procurement, or HRM based on your priorities. Train team leads first; they become internal champions for their departments.

Week 4: Optimize and automate. Configure approval workflows, set up AI alerts, and build the dashboards your leadership team reviews weekly. Retire the old spreadsheets.

Success factors: executive sponsorship, clear module ownership, and realistic data migration scope. Perfect data on day one is less important than consistent processes going forward.

Bizon's onboarding team provides templates for each phase. Most customers complete week 1–2 self-serve and use support for module-specific configuration in weeks 3–4.
